Aim of the symposium

The symposium is an important milestone of the second funding phase of the Clinical Research Priority Program Multiple Sclerosis (CRPPMS), a center grant which forms part of the University of Zürich’s efforts to promote clinical research and foster research excellence. Our CRPPMS wants to understand disease heterogeneity of Multiple Sclerosis - as an example of a complex and severe autoimmune disease. Main research themes are definition of phenotypes, understanding the underlying biology of heterogeneity and developing novel treatments. Nine groups from the University of Zürich, University Hospital Zürich and ETHZ combine their expertise in these thematic areas.  Our symposium aims at discussing important aspects related to disease heterogeneity of MS and other autoimmune diseases with experts in the field, inform a broader audience about research and present the network to internationally renowned scientists and clinicians.
